Texas High School Football - Coronado gets by Cooper

September 15, 2023: Abilene, TX 79605

The Coronado Mustangs football squad scored 27 points and restricted the host Cooper Cougars to 21 in the Mustangs non-league victory on Friday.

The Mustangs now possess a 1-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Caprock for a 5A-1 Region I District 2 battle on Thursday, September 21. Coronado will play a Longhorns squad coming off a 17-0 non-league loss to Canyon (Canyon, TX). The Longhorns record now stands at 1-3.

Coming up next, the Cougars play the Permian Panthers (Odessa, TX) in a non-league battle, on Friday, September 22. Cooper will attempt to advance on its 1-3 season record. The Panthers enter the battle with a 2-2 record after their 27-25 non-league loss to Harker Heights (Harker Heights, TX).
