    The Vela Sabercats held off the host McAllen Memorial Mustangs football team by a count of 31-27 in Friday's league outing.

    With the win, Vela upgrades its record to 4-0 on the season. The Sabercats host Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North (Pharr, TX) to confront the Raiders in a 5A-1 Region IV District 15 outing on Friday, September 22. The Raiders go into the outing with a record of 4-0. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North won 56-0 in their recent league outing against McAllen (McAllen, TX)

    With the loss, McAllen Memorial moves to 2-2 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Palmview (La Joya, TX) to confront the Lobos in a 5A-1 Region IV District 15 outing on Thursday, September 21. The Lobos go into the outing with a record of 2-2. Palmview lost 35-3 in their recent league outing against Rowe (McAllen, TX)
