In Monday's league challenge, the visiting Herricks Highlanders volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Valley Stream Central Eagles.

The Highlanders (1-0) will now prepare for their test against Uniondale (Uniondale, NY). The Knights go into the Conference 1A test with a 1-1 record.

The Eagles now sport a 4-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Westbury for a challenge on Wednesday, September 17.
