The Benton Cardinals softball team scored 11 runs and held the host Lathrop Mules to 7 in the Cardinals non-league win on Monday.

The Cardinals now possess a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Blue Springs South for a non-league battle on Saturday, September 20.

With the loss, Lathrop moves to 2-2 on the season. The Mules travel to Braymer (Braymer, MO) to meet the Bobcats in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, September 16. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a record of 1-1. Braymer won 17-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Meadville (Meadville, MO)
