Hiram Hornets (Hiram, GA) supporters left the game thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting McEachern Indians (Powder Springs, GA), 8-7 in a non-league match.

The Hornets (4-11) will now prepare for their match against Allatoona (Acworth, GA). The Buccaneers come into the 4A Region 7 match with a 8-4 record. In their last match, Allatoona nipped Woodland (Cartersville, GA), 9-4, in a league match.

In their next game, the Indians battle the Campbell Spartans (Smyrna, GA) in a 6A Region 3 game, on Tuesday, September 16. McEachern will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record. The Spartans enter the game with a 7-10 record after their 6-1 non-league loss to Westminster (Atlanta, GA).
