Match Summary
In set 1 it didn't take long for Lake Balboa to stake out a 7-3 lead. 3 rotations later they were running in the open field 14-5 & won going away 11-5 to finish. Again the Cougars bounced out to an early lead 6-2 behind the tough serving of Darla Wiltz. Athena Orujyan's rotation made it 10-4. Kennia Martinez Ayala's serving stretched it out to 15-7. The Warriors battled back to within 3 at 13-16 only to have the Lake Show respond at 20-13 behind Darla again. 5-5 sideout ball & Laketown was in the catbird seat 2-0. Discovery Prep came out hot in set 3 leading 5-2. The Cougars closed to 5-7 led by Athena O. again. Moments later it was 12-6 DP. Nare Orujyan subbed in at middle passer to restore law & order. The teal & black started to whittle away at the lead only to have the determined Warriors take a commanding lead of 15-9. The visitor's last stand was at 17-14. Athena took her team to 18 all. Lake Balboa finished the match with a 7-1 closing kick for the win behind Nare's serving.
