In Monday's non-league challenge, the host Thorsby Rebels volleyball team scored a 3-1 victory over the Verbena Red Devils.

The Rebels (5-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Dallas County (Plantersville, AL). The Hornets enter the 3A Area 5 challenge with a 1-5 record. In their last challenge, Dallas County was beaten by Thorsby (Thorsby, AL), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Red Devils meet the Central of Coosa County Cougars (Rockford, AL) in a non-league test, on Tuesday, September 16. Verbena will attempt to improve on its 0-4 season record. The Cougars go into the test with a 0-7 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Shelby County (Columbiana, AL).
