In Friday's league battle, the host Winn Mavericks volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Southside Cardinals.

The Mavericks (15-12) will now prepare for their battle against South San Antonio (San Antonio, TX). The Bobcats come into the 5A Region IV District 28 battle with a 21-7 record. In their last battle, South San Antonio achieved victory over Southwest Legacy (Von Ormy, TX), 3-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Cardinals clash with the Southwest Dragons (San Antonio, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 28 battle, on Tuesday, September 20. Southside will attempt to advance on its 11-12 season record. The Dragons come into the battle with a 23-6 record after their 3-0 league win over McCollum (San Antonio, TX).
