Van-Far Indians (Vandalia, MO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Marion County Mustangs (Philadelphia, MO), 11-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Indians now own a 2-7 record. They take the field next when they host Montgomery County for a Eastern Missouri challenge on Tuesday, September 19. Van-Far will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to Bowling Green (Bowling Green, MO). The Wildcats record now stands at 8-2.

With the loss, Marion County falls to 3-4 on the campaign. The Mustangs host North Shelby (Shelbyville, MO) to battle the Raiders in a Class 1 District 10 challenge on Tuesday, September 19. The Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 5-5. North Shelby lost 2-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Louisiana (Louisiana, MO)
