The Avon Pirates (Avon, SD) volleyball overcame the host Corsica/Stickney Jaguars (Corsica, SD), 2-0 in Saturday's league outing.

With the win, Avon upgrades its record to 8-5 on the year. The Pirates travel to Northwestern Area (Mellette, SD) to face the Wildcats in a non-league outing on Saturday, September 16. The Wildcats go into the outing with a record of 8-5. Northwestern Area won 3-0 in their recent non-league outing against Ipswich (Ipswich, SD)

The Jaguars now own a 1-12 record. They play next when they travel to Kimball/White Lake for a non-league outing on Tuesday, September 19. Corsica/Stickney will encounter a Wildkats team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Milbank (Milbank, SD). The Wildkats record now stands at 7-7.
