In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Wellborn Panthers volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Faith Christian Lions.

The Panthers (9-1) will now prepare for their battle against Randolph County (Wedowee, AL). The Tigers come into the 3A Area 8 battle with a 2-7 record.

Next, the Lions clash with the Alabama School for the Deaf Silent Warriors (Talladega, AL) in a 1A Area 8 battle, on Monday, September 18. Faith Christian will attempt to advance on its 16-10 season record. The Silent Warriors come into the battle with a 0-8 record after their 3-0 league loss to Wadley (Wadley, AL).
