Fans at Monday's non-league battle between the Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC) and the host West Charlotte Lions (Charlotte, NC), saw Mallard Creek's soccer squad triumph over West Charlotte by a count of 9-1.

The Mavericks (2-5) will now prepare for their battle against Hopewell (Huntersville, NC). The Titans enter the non-league battle with a 3-4 record. In their last battle, Hopewell was overwhelmed by Cox Mill (Concord, NC), 2-1, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Lions battle the Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) in a non-league battle, on Friday, September 20. West Charlotte will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Spartans enter the battle with a 3-5 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Parkwood (Monroe, NC).
