In Monday's non-league challenge, the host James River Knights volleyball team scored a 3-0 victory over the Riverheads Gladiators.

The Knights (5-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Carroll County (Hillsville, VA). The Cavaliers enter the Three Rivers challenge with a 3-3 record. In their last challenge, Carroll County beat Alleghany (Covington, VA), 3-1, in a league challenge.

Next, the Gladiators meet the Buffalo Gap Bison (Swoope, VA) in a Shenandoah challenge, on Tuesday, September 17. Riverheads will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Bison enter the challenge with a 4-2 record after their 3-0 league loss to Wilson Memorial (Fishersville, VA).
