In Monday's non-league challenge, the host Montclair Mounties volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the West Essex Knights.

The Mounties (2-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Newark Academy (Livingston, NJ). The Minutemen enter the non-league challenge with a 1-3 record. In their last challenge, Newark Academy was tipped by Livingston (Livingston, NJ), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Knights meet the Livingston Lancers (Livingston, NJ) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, September 18. West Essex will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record. The Lancers enter the challenge with a 5-0 record after their 2-1 non-league win over Newark Academy (Livingston, NJ).
