The Wellsboro Hornets held off the visiting Towanda Black Knights soccer team by a tally of 1-0 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Hornets now hold a 5-3 record. They play next when they travel to Wyalusing Valley for a PIAA District IV-A bout on Thursday, September 18. Wellsboro will play a Rams squad coming off a 2-1 league loss to Athens (Athens, PA). The Rams record now stands at 5-3.

With the loss, Towanda moves to 0-5 on the year. The Black knights host North Penn-Mansfield (Mansfield, PA) to play the Tigers in a PIAA District IV-AA bout on Tuesday, September 23. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 3-5.
