Fans at Tuesday's non-league contest between the Union Spartans (Rose Hill, NC) and the host Hobbton Wildcats (Newton Grove, NC), observed Union's volleyball team hold off Hobbton by a count of 2-1.

The Spartans (2-10) will now prepare for their contest against West Columbus (Cerro Gordo, NC). The Vikings enter the non-league contest with a 2-6 record. In their last battle, West Columbus was edged by North Duplin (Calypso, NC), 2-0, in a non-league battle.
