The Grimsley Whirlies soccer squad scored 10 points and held the host Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles to 1 in the Whirlies league victory on Tuesday.

The Whirlies now hold a 5-4 record. They play next when they travel to Southwest Guilford for a Metro 6A/7A game on Thursday, September 18. Grimsley will face a Cowboys team coming off a 2-0 league win over Ragsdale (Jamestown, NC). The Cowboys record now stands at 6-4.

The Golden Eagles (1-1) will now prepare for their game against Western Guilford (Greensboro, NC). The Hornets enter the Metro 6A/7A game with a 10-2 record. In their last game, Western Guilford was overwhelmed by Providence Grove (Franklinville, NC), 2-1, in a non-league game.
