The crowd at Tuesday's league bout between the Sumter County Panthers (Americus, GA) and the visiting Jordan Red Jackets (Columbus, GA), observed Sumter County's softball team get by Jordan by a tally of 11-9.

The Panthers (7-7) will now prepare for their bout against Hardaway (Columbus, GA). The Hawks go into the 2A Region 1 bout with a 8-5 record. In their last bout, Hardaway by St. Anne-Pacelli (Columbus, GA), 19-0, in a non-league contest.

The Red Jackets now hold a 4-10 record. They play next when they travel to Columbus for a 2A Region 1 contest on Wednesday, September 17. Jordan will face a Blue Devils squad coming off a 9-1 league win over Sumter County (Americus, GA). The Blue Devils record now stands at 6-7.
