In Tuesday's league challenge, the host Salem Spartans volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Blacksburg Bruins.

The Spartans (10-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Hidden Valley (Roanoke, VA). The Titans go into the River Ridge game with a 13-3 record. In their last outing, Hidden Valley edged Pulaski County (Dublin, VA), 3-0, in a league outing.

With the loss, Blacksburg drops to 3-6 on the campaign. The Bruins host Cave Spring (Roanoke, VA) to play the Knights in a River Ridge outing on Tuesday, September 23. The Knights come into the outing with a record of 6-7. Cave Spring lost 3-1 in their recent league outing against Christiansburg (Christiansburg, VA)
