The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Maize Eagles (Maize, KS) and the visiting Newton Railroaders (Newton, KS), saw Maize's volleyball squad nip Newton by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Maize upgrades its record to 9-9 on the year. The Eagles host Valley Center (Valley Center, KS) to play the Hornets in a non-league bout on Saturday, September 17. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 9-7. Valley Center won 2-1 in their recent league bout against Arkansas City (Arkansas City, KS)

The Railroaders now own a 8-8 record. They play next when they travel to Eisenhower for a non-league bout on Saturday, September 17. Newton will play a Tigers squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Andover Central (Andover, KS). The Tigers record now stands at 8-2.
