In Tuesday's non-league challenge, the visiting Garrard County Golden Lions volleyball team scored a close 3-2 victory over the Somerset Briar Jumpers.

The Golden Lions (5-7) will now prepare for their bout against Madison Southern (Berea, KY). The Eagles come into the non-league bout with a 6-6 record. In their last bout, Madison Southern was nudged by Lexington Christian (Lexington, KY), 3-0, in a non-league bout.

With the loss, Somerset drops to 2-12 on the campaign. The Briar jumpers host Pulaski County (Somerset, KY) to clash with the Maroons in a District 47 bout on Thursday, September 19. The Maroons come into the bout with a record of 10-6. Pulaski County won 3-0 in their recent non-league bout against North Laurel (London, KY)
