Match Summary
Long Reach was down 2 sets, against River Hill going into the 3rd set and determined they would not lose another set to the Hawks. In an amazing 3rd set, Long Reach Senior middle Brooke Gordon and Freshman middle Azana Saheed put up huge blocks against the Hawks while Senior Addy Van Oosten racked up the Aces to bring the Lightning to 25-14. With the win of the 3rd set the Lightning were determined this was their match. Junior Libero Delaney Strawhorn was a force in defense, picking up some amazing hits. The Lightning fought for every point taking the 4th set 25-22. The Hawks fought back in the 5th set to edge ahead but the Lightnings commitment to fight for each other, found their rhythm and closed out the match with a 15-9 win.
