Fans at Wednesday's league battle between the Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) and the visiting North Mecklenburg Vikings (Huntersville, NC), saw Independence's soccer squad knock off North Mecklenburg by a score of 3-1.

The Patriots (7-3) will now prepare for their battle against Butler (Matthews, NC). The Bulldogs enter the Meck Power Six 7A/8A battle with a 3-5 record. In their last battle, Butler tipped Mallard Creek (Charlotte, NC), 3-1, in a league battle.

The Vikings now sport a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they host R.J. Reynolds for a non-league test on Monday, September 22. North Mecklenburg will meet a Demons team coming off a 5-2 non-league win over Bishop McGuinness (Kernersville, NC). The Demons record now stands at 3-4.
