Newark Academy Minutemen (Livingston, NJ) backers were pleased Wednesday as they witnessed their volleyball team tip the host Montclair Mounties (Montclair, NJ), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Minutemen (2-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Morristown-Beard (Morristown, NJ). The Crimson come into the non-league challenge with a 0-1 record.

Next, the Mounties play the Millburn Millers (Millburn, NJ) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 18. Montclair will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record. The Millers come into the challenge with a 5-2 record after their 2-0 league win over Mount St. Dominic Academy (Caldwell, NJ).
