The East Wilkes Cardinals volleyball team (Ronda, NC), was nudged 1-0 in Monday's league challenge with the visiting Starmount Rams (Boonville, NC)

The Rams (1-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Forbush (East Bend, NC). The Falcons enter the non-league challenge with a 8-4 record. In their last challenge, Forbush nipped Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC), 3-1, in a league challenge.

Next, the Cardinals meet the Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC) in a Northwest 1A challenge, on Thursday, September 21. East Wilkes will attempt to move on its 3-10 season record. The Granite Bears enter the challenge with a 7-4 record after their 3-1 league loss to Alleghany (Sparta, NC).
