Fans at Wednesday's non-league contest between the Wakefield School Fighting Owls (The Plains, VA) and the host Washington-Liberty Generals (Arlington, VA), observed Wakefield School's volleyball team hold off Washington-Liberty by a count of 2-1.

The Fighting Owls (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Langley (McLean, VA). The Saxons enter the non-league contest with a 5-1 record. In their last contest, Langley got by Stone Bridge (Ashburn, VA), 2-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Generals battle the Westfield Bulldogs (Chantilly, VA) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 20. Washington-Liberty will attempt to move on its 2-6 season record.
