In Wednesday's league outing, the visiting Highlands Highlanders soccer squad scored a tight 2-1 victory over the Murphy Bulldogs.

The Highlanders (4-5) will now prepare for their outing against Tri-County (Murphy, NC). The Jaguars go into the Smoky Mountain 1A outing with a 1-5 record. In their last outing, Tri-County was edged by Blue Ridge Early College (Cashiers, NC), 5-2, in a league outing.

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Hayesville Yellowjackets (Hayesville, NC) in a Smoky Mountain 1A outing, on Monday, September 23. Murphy will attempt to improve on its 3-7 season record. The Yellowjackets go into the outing with a 1-3 record after their 4-2 league loss to Swain County (Bryson City, NC).
