In Wednesday's non-league challenge, the host Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs volleyball team scored a close 3-2 victory over the Hillside Hornets.

The Bulldogs (3-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Cleveland (Clayton, NC). The Rams enter the Greater Neuse River 4A challenge with a 14-4 record. In their last challenge, Cleveland got by Clayton (Clayton, NC), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Hornets meet the East Chapel Hill Wildcats (Chapel Hill, NC) in a DAC-VII 4A challenge, on Thursday, September 19. Hillside will attempt to upgrade on its 0-7 season record. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a 9-3 record after their 3-0 league win over Jordan (Durham, NC).
