Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks (Newburgh, NY) boosters exited the stadium pleased Thursday as they witnessed their soccer squad knock off the visiting Middletown Middie Bears (Middletown, NY), 5-2 in a non-league outing.

The Goldbacks (4-0) will now prepare for their outing against Cornwall Central (New Windsor, NY). The Dragons go into the non-league outing with a 4-2 record. In their last outing, Cornwall Central by Our Lady of Lourdes (Poughkeepsie, NY), 4-2, in a non-league outing.

Next up, the Middie Bears confront the Shaker Bison (Latham, NY) in a non-league outing, on Friday, September 19. Middletown will attempt to improve on its 3-3 season record. The Bison go into the outing with a 4-1 record after their 5-0 non-league win over Albany (Albany, NY).
