The Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks soccer squad scored 9 points and held the visiting Middletown Middie Bears to 0 in the Goldbacks league victory on Thursday.

The Goldbacks now possess a 4-0 record. They take the field next when they host Albany for a non-league game on Saturday, September 20. Newburgh Free Academy will face a Falcons team coming off a 4-1 non-league loss to Bethlehem Central (Delmar, NY). The Falcons record now stands at 1-3.

The Middie Bears (3-4) will now prepare for their bout against Shaker (Latham, NY). The Bison go into the non-league bout with a 6-0 record. In their last bout, Shaker thwarted Ballston Spa (Ballston Spa, NY), 4-0, in a league bout.
