North Carolina High School Volleyball - Avery County over Mitchell

September 18, 2025: Newland, NC 28657

Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC) and the visiting Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC), saw Avery County's volleyball squad notch a victory over Mitchell by a score of 3-1.

With the win, Avery County improves its record to 8-5 on the season. The Vikings travel to Madison (Marshall, NC) to encounter the Patriots in a Western Highlands 2A/3A battle on Tuesday, September 23. The Patriots go into the contest with a record of 7-8. Madison lost 3-0 in their recent non-league contest against Asheville School (Independent) (Asheville, NC)

Next, the Mountaineers meet the Unicoi County Blue Devils (Erwin, TN) in a non-league contest, on Monday, September 22. Mitchell will attempt to move on its 4-9 season record.
