In Thursday's league challenge, the visiting Western Guilford Hornets volleyball team scored a 3-0 victory over the Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles.

The Hornets (9-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Grimsley (Greensboro, NC). The Whirlies enter the Metro 6A/7A challenge with a 18-7 record. In their last challenge, Grimsley achieved victory over Southwest Guilford (High Point, NC), 3-0, in a league test.

The Golden Eagles now own a 0-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Southern Guilford for a non-league test on Monday, September 22. Ben L. Smith will face a Storm squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Southeast Guilford (Greensboro, NC). The Storm record now stands at 2-10.
