In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Opelika Bulldogs volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Benjamin Russell Wildcats.

The Bulldogs (7-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Smiths Station (Smiths, AL). The Panthers come into the 7A Area 5 challenge with a 2-3 record. In their last challenge, Smiths Station beat Opelika (Opelika, AL), 3-2, in a league challenge.

Next, the Wildcats meet the Stanhope Elmore Mustangs (Millbrook, AL) in a non-league test, on Saturday, September 20. Benjamin Russell will attempt to improve on its 2-11 season record. The Mustangs go into the test with a 5-8 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Clay-Chalkville (Pinson, AL).
