Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Gates County Red Barons (Gatesville, NC) and the host Bertie Falcons (Windsor, NC), observed Gates County's volleyball team top Bertie by a tally of 3-0.

The Red Barons (11-3) will now prepare for their contest against Camden County (Camden, NC). The Bruins enter the non-league contest with a 14-3 record. In their last contest, Camden County beat Manteo (Manteo, NC), 3-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Falcons meet the Perquimans Pirates (Hertford, NC) in a Albermarle (AAC) 2A contest, on Tuesday, September 23. Bertie will attempt to upgrade on its 0-7 season record. The Pirates go into the test with a 15-3 record after their 3-2 non-league loss to Holmes (Edenton, NC).
