Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary Cardinals (Montebello, CA) and the visiting Paraclete Spirits (Lancaster, CA), observed Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary's volleyball team hold off Paraclete by a count of 3-2.

The Cardinals (14-8) will now prepare for their contest against St. Genevieve (Panorama City, CA). The Valiants enter the Camino Real battle with a 1-8 record. In their last battle, St. Genevieve was edged by Mary Star of the Sea (San Pedro, CA), 3-0, in a league battle.

The Spirits now own a 11-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mary Star of the Sea for a non-league battle on Tuesday, September 23. Paraclete will encounter a Stars squad coming off a 3-0 league win over St. Genevieve (Panorama City, CA). The Stars record now stands at 9-13.
