In Thursday's league challenge, the host Corbett Cardinals volleyball team scored a close 3-2 victory over the Rainier Columbians.

The Cardinals (3-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Portland Christian (Portland, OR). The Royals enter the non-league challenge with a 6-0 record. In their last challenge, Portland Christian nudged Knappa (Astoria, OR), 3-0, in a league test.

The Columbians now own a 3-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Yamhill-Carlton for a 3A Coastal Range test on Monday, September 22. Rainier will face a Tigers squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to Warrenton (Warrenton, OR). The Tigers record now stands at 5-5.
