Maywood Academy Nighthawks (Maywood, CA) backers were pleased Thursday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the host Elizabeth Bulldogs (Cudahy, CA), 3-0 in a league challenge.

The Nighthawks (5-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Torres (Los Angeles, CA). The Toros come into the Southern challenge with a 0-7 record. In their last challenge, Torres lost by Maywood CES (Maywood, CA), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Bulldogs play the Marquez Gladiators (Huntington Park, CA) in a Southern game, on Monday, September 22. Elizabeth will attempt to advance on its 0-6 season record. The Gladiators go into the game with a 5-9 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Fairfax (Los Angeles, CA).
