The New Bern Bears (New Bern, NC) volleyball nudged the visiting Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC), 3-2 in Monday's non-league outing.

With the win, New Bern upgrades its record to 4-9 on the year. The Bears host Havelock (Havelock, NC) to face the Rams in a Big East 3A/4A outing on Thursday, September 22. The Rams go into the outing with a record of 6-8. Havelock lost 3-0 in their recent league outing against J.H. Rose (Greenville, NC)

The Cougars now own a 6-5 record. They play next when they host Dixon for a Coastal 3A outing on Tuesday, September 20. Croatan will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to West Carteret (Morehead City, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 8-5.
