Alamosa Mean Moose (Alamosa, CO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Gunnison Cowboys (Gunnison, CO), 8-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Mean Moose now own a 8-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to James Irwin for a 3A Tri Peaks challenge on Thursday, September 21. Alamosa will face a Jaguars squad coming off a 19-4 league win over Dolores Huerta Prep (Pueblo, CO). The Jaguars record now stands at 3-8.

With the loss, Gunnison falls to 7-6 on the campaign. The Cowboys travel to Sierra (Colorado Springs, CO) to face the Stallions in a non-league challenge on Saturday, September 23. The Stallions enter the challenge with a record of 10-3. Sierra won 15-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Woodland Park (Woodland Park, CO)
