The East Wake Warriors volleyball team (Wendell, NC), was edged 3-2 in Tuesday's league challenge with the visiting Smithfield-Selma Spartans (Smithfield, NC)

The Spartans (2-11) will now prepare for their challenge against South Johnston (Four Oaks, NC). The Trojans come into the Quad County 3A challenge with a 10-3 record. In their last challenge, South Johnston nudged West Johnston (Benson, NC), 3-1, in a league challenge.

Next, the Warriors encounter the Southern Wayne Saints (Dudley, NC) in a Quad County 3A challenge, on Thursday, September 21. East Wake will attempt to move on its 2-12 season record. The Saints come into the challenge with a 6-7 record after their 3-2 league loss to C.B. Aycock (Pikeville, NC).
