Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA) and the visiting Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA), observed Galax's volleyball team top Bland County by a tally of 2-0.

The Maroon Tide (6-2) will now prepare for their contest against Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA). The Pioneers enter the non-league contest with a 5-3 record.

Next, the Bears meet the Narrows Green Waves (Narrows, VA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, September 23. Bland County will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Green Waves enter the contest with a 8-1 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Parry McCluer (Buena Vista, VA).
