The Newkirk Tigers (Newkirk, OK) softball nipped the visiting Chisholm Longhorns (Enid, OK), 4-3 in Thursday's league outing.

The Tigers now sport a 18-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Pawnee for a non-league outing on Monday, September 23. Newkirk will encounter a Black Bears team coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to Hominy (Hominy, OK). The Black Bears record now stands at 6-20.

With the loss, Chisholm moves to 5-19 on the season. The Longhorns travel to Seiling (Seiling, OK) to encounter the Wildcats in a non-league outing on Saturday, September 21. The Wildcats come into the outing with a record of 18-7. Seiling won 8-0 in their recent non-league outing against Shattuck (Shattuck, OK)
