In Thursday's league test, the South Effingham Mustangs (Guyton, GA) softball squad overwhelmed the host Statesboro Blue Devils (Statesboro, GA), by a tally of 9-3.

Next, the Mustangs clash with the Glynn Academy Terrors (Brunswick, GA) in a 5A Region 1 test, on Monday, September 23. South Effingham will attempt to advance on its 13-5 season record. The Terrors go into the test with a 12-7 record after their 12-1 league win over Brunswick (Brunswick, GA).

The Blue Devils (7-10) will now prepare for their test against Bradwell Institute (Hinesville, GA). The Tigers go into the 5A Region 1 test with a 4-13 record. In their last test, Bradwell Institute held off First Preparatory Christian Academy (Hinesville, GA), 7-4, in a non-league test.
