In Thursday's league match, the Grand Island Islanders (Grand Island, NE) volleyball squad overcame the visiting Kearney Bearcats (Kearney, NE), by a count of 3-0.

Next up, the Islanders battle the Bellevue West Thunderbirds (Bellevue, NE) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 20. Grand Island will attempt to move on its 8-4 season record. The Thunderbirds enter the match with a 8-10 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Bennington (Bennington, NE).
