Texas High School Football - Nixon nudges Southside

September 19, 2025: San Antonio, TX 78221

In Friday's league match, the visiting Nixon Mustangs football squad scored a close 22-18 triumph over the Southside Cardinals.

The Mustangs (2-2) will now prepare for their match against South San Antonio (San Antonio, TX). The Bobcats come into the 5A-1 Region IV District 14 match with a 3-1 record. In their last match, South San Antonio tipped Cigarroa (Laredo, TX), 50-9, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Cardinals confront the Martin Tigers (Laredo, TX) in a 5A-1 Region IV District 14 match, on Friday, September 26. Southside will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Tigers come into the match with a 1-2 record after their 56-13 league loss to Southwest (San Antonio, TX).
