In Friday's league challenge, the host Austin Mustangs volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Sharpstown Apollos.

The Mustangs (7-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Galena Park (Galena Park, TX). The Yellowjackets come into the 5A Region III District 21 challenge with a 16-12 record. In their last challenge, Galena Park gained a win over Carnegie Vanguard (Houston, TX), 3-1, in a league test.

The Apollos now sport a 6-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Madison for a 5A Region III District 21 test on Tuesday, September 23. Sharpstown will face a Marlins squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Waltrip (Houston, TX). The Marlins record now stands at 6-5.
