With the win, Malakoff improves its record to 23-7 on the season. The Tigers host Edgewood (Edgewood, TX) to encounter the Bulldogs in a 3A Region II District 15 battle on Friday, September 26. The Bulldogs go into the battle with a record of 8-22.

The Wildcats now own a 3-15 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mineola for a 3A Region II District 15 contest on Tuesday, September 23. Winona will meet a Yellowjackets team coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Harmony (Big Sandy, TX). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 15-12.
