In Friday's league match, the host Long Rebels football squad scored a big 42-7 victory over the Samson Tigers.

In their next game, the Rebels clash with the Ariton Purple Cats (Ariton, AL) in a 2A Region 2 match, on Friday, September 9. Long will attempt to move on its 2-0 season record. The Purple Cats enter the match with a 2-1 record after their 43-14 league win over Geneva County (Hartford, AL).
