Colorado High School Football - Rifle gets by Montezuma-Cortez

The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Rifle Bears (Rifle, CO) and the visiting Montezuma-Cortez Panthers (Cortez, CO), observed Rifle's football squad edge Montezuma-Cortez by a count of 33-26.

The Bears now own a 1-0 record. They play next when they host Glenwood Springs for a non-league contest on Friday, September 9. Rifle will play a Demons squad coming off a 41-27 non-league win over Conifer (Conifer, CO). The Demons record now stands at 1-1.

Coming up next, the Panthers play the Kirtland Central Broncos (Kirtland, NM) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 9. Montezuma-Cortez will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Broncos go into the contest with a 1-1 record after their 36-6 non-league win over Thoreau (Thoreau, NM).
