The Thunderbirds come into the contest with a record of 4-8. Bellevue West lost 6-0 in their recent non-league contest against Kearney (Kearney, NE)

In their next game, the Islanders play the Lincoln Southeast Knights (Lincoln, NE) in a A District contest, on Tuesday, September 5. Grand Island will attempt to move on its 2-7 season record. The Knights come into the contest with a 2-5 record after their 7-3 non-league win over Duchesne/Roncalli (Omaha, NE).
